Seeing New York at Christmas was a big bucket list item checked off for me, Kristina, which is why we did it for my birthday this year! And let me just say, it should be on everyone’s bucket list. It was majestic. I definitely want to go again sometime, so hopefully this will be the first of many visits to New York at Christmas time. Do you see the look on my face in this picture, that was the look on my face constantly, a look of wonder and just trying to soak in every second of this magical place.
This photo is of me watching the light show at Saks Fifth Avenue. It was a moment of complete unexpected delight when we walked up to see the whole side of the building dazzling in light and color. I wanted to capture that moment in a jar and save it to watch whenever I am having a bad day. The windows at Saks were also breathtaking; the fun and whimsical Candyland theme was so fun, I loved it.
Fifth Avenue had many other stores that were serious eye candy as well. Bergdorf Goodman, Tiffany’s, Cartier, and Salvadore Feragamo were some of my favorites.
Rockefeller Center had one of the most beautiful trees in the city (of course), but scroll down to see some of my other favorites.

Lastly, and there are no pictures to prove this unfortunately, but a must do for your trip to New York during the holidays is to see the Rockettes in the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. It’s sheer magic the precision these women have. There are moments that are fun, moments that speak to the kid in all of us and beg for us to believe in Santa, and the holidays, and the magic of the season, but they do it all in perfect with rhythm with razor sharp movements (kicks included of course) and spot on precision. If you like dancing, or the holidays, or legs, or perfectly choreographed and even more perfectly executed dance numbers, then this is the show for you. And if you honestly don’t like any of those things…then where is your soul, sir! Where is your soul?
