Making commitments

Adam and I got married in 2008.  It was such a wonderful day celebrating with friends and family.  This day we made a commitment, not only to love each other for the rest of our lives (duh!), but to pursue travel always – no matter our circumstances.

We decided that the most realistic way to make this happen was to alternate between a big trip and a small trip each year.  Our honeymoon would count as a big trip, and then we would plan from there.

So far we’ve been able to achieve this and more and we want to share with you the journey and all the fun sights and eateries each destination offered.  Below there’s a timeline of our trips since our wedding day.  Our plan is to sprinkle in posts on each place chronologically.  It might take a little while to get to them all, so, sorry about that. We hope you are along for the ride!

2008- Honeymoon in the Greek Isles

2009- Diving in Cozumel, Mexico

2010- We bought a timeshare and went to Vegas (this was an investment in future big trips)

2011- Took a family vacation to check out the timeshare in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

2011- We went to Italy with friends Bree and Steve

2012- Tried the timeshare exchange program and went to Thailand – amazing!

2013- Road trip through North and South Carolina

2014- Family trip to Maui, Hawaii to celebrate our parents’ 30th wedding anniversary

2015- Spain and Morocco

2016- Started the blog and went with family to Alaska. We will be going to Paris, Prague, New York and Munich at the end of the year (we might have to count this one for 2017 – but we’ll see)

As you can see, it’s been a pretty good ride so far, and we have no intention of letting up. In fact, one of our favorite activities is planning “the next trip.” Maybe you can help with that. Where do you think we should go next? We always love a good recommendation.
