As you know, I could sit and stare at the ocean all day. The only thing better than sitting and looking at the ocean is doing it with some delicious food in front of you. It’s what makes life worth living. So for Valentine’s Day this past year, we had a romantic brunch at Geoffrey’s in Malibu. As you can see, the view is to die for (I just said it makes life worth living…I know…I’m even confusing myself). Jumbled metaphors and cliches aside, it really was a great place to sit and enjoy a Saturday morning/afternoon.
Kristina got the Eggs Benedict while I opted for a traditional French Toast and Sausage. Both were delicious. But let’s talk about mine for a second. It all started with these thick hunks of bread, fried to perfection on the outside and still squishy-delicious on the inside. Plenty of powdered sugar, as you can see, and a syrup that was tinged with what tasted like cinnamon or nutmeg – something festive. It was a revelation. The sausage was sausage. It’s pretty hard to do that wrong, and equally difficult to really stand out.
Also, they put some oranges on there. Eh, whatever. All in all, it was a great morning with a great girl and a great view at a great restaurant that served some great food. Great!
